LEGOLAND® donates playroom to Kolding Hospital

Press release

On December 15 a little bit of the LEGOLAND magic was brought to the
hospitalized children at Kolding Hospital, when finally they could explore their
new playroom, which has been established with a view to making their stay at the
hospital a little more fun.

Behind the playroom are Merlin’s Magic Wand, LEGO® Charity, the design
company Sommer Larsen and TH Entreprise, who have all contributed to the
project.

For most children and their families a stay at a hospital leaves a profound
impression. It is therefore very important for the children to find something that is
recognizable and brings joy, and that is exactly what the LEGO bricks and
LEGOLAND do.

We are really pleased with the effort that our partners have put into creating a
fantastic room for the children, says head nurse Edel Kirketerp from the
children’s ward at Kolding Hospital.

Adventure at the King’s Castle
Just as in LEGOLAND, the playroom has been themed. So the children might as
well dress up in green capes and draw the sword, for the playroom is straight out
of a true fairytale with an exciting castle, a hollow tree, good hiding places and
inspiring LEGO experiences.

- Merlin Entertainments’ special charity – Merlin’s Magic Wand – has been set up
to provide magical experiences to children who are not able to visit LEGOLAND.
The playroom is fantastic, inasmuch as it is a piece of LEGOLAND, and we hope it
will give the hospitalized children a much needed respite, says Henrik Höhrmann,
General Manager, LEGOLAND Park.
